He studied at Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles and at the University of Miami.
Matthew Chambers paints colorful, bold works using abstract and figurative techniques. His inspiration comes from art history, pop culture, and his own imagination.
Chambers has had individual exhibits at Feuer/Mesler, New York; Hezi Cohen Gallery, Tel Aviv; Praz Delavallade, Paris; UNTITLED, New York; Steve Turner Contemporary, Los Angeles; Blanket Contemporary Art, Vancouver; Angstrom, Los Angeles; Rental Gallery, New York; and Objex, Miami. He has participated in many group shows as the ones held at Marlborough Madrid, Spain; Brand New Gallery, Milan; Luce Gallery, Turin; Pepin Moore, Los Angeles; MOCA, Pacific Design Center, Los Angeles; and Library Nieves, Tokyo, among others.
Some of his works belong to public and private collections such as Hort Family Foundation, New York; Zabludowicz Collection, London;Berezdivin Collection Puerto Rico; Il Giardino dei Lauri, Citta delle Pieve, Italy; Rubell Family Collection, Miami; and Saatchi Collection, London.
