She lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
Hilary Pecis received a bachelor’s degree (2006) and a master’s degree (2009) in fine arts from the California College of the Arts, in San Francisco.
Pecis' acrylic paintings explore the space around her, the landscape, the light and the pace of her life in Los Angeles. At the same time, she considers the history and medium of the painting, as to depict the traditional motifs of still life and landscapes in her canvas, using energetic and vibrant colors and textures.
Her work has been exhibited widely at such galleries as The Pit, Glendale; Halsey McKay, East Hampton; Rachel Uffner Gallery, New York, and Guerrero Gallery, San Francisco. Her work has been featured in exhibitions such as Brand Library & Arts Center, Glendale, California; Over the Influence, Los Angeles; Galerie LJ, Paris; Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco; Hunted Projects, Tilburg, and Torrance Art Museum, Torrance.
