Micha Patiniott Amsterdam, Netherlands, b. 1972

Biography

Lives and works in Amsterdam.

He studied at Art School, London; at Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, Massachusetts; and at Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam.

Patiniott is known for his paintings that often reflect everyday reality, although portrayed with a twist. His work has always dealt with people and objects engaging in playful and somewhat problematic forms of self-expression.

Patiniott has been awarded by Stipend Mondriaan Foundation, Shortlist Wim Izaksprijs, Louise Bourgeois Fellowship, and Stichting Schurmann-Krant Fellowship. His solo exhibitions include Anna Zorina Gallery, New York; Galerie Sturm, Nuremberg, Germany; MK Galerie, Rotterdam; Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, The Netherlands; and Hudson D. Walker Gallery, Massachusetts.

Patiniott has also had group shows at De Nederlandse Bank, Amsterdam; Provincie Noord-Holland, Haarlem; Cokkie Snoei, Rotterdam; Museum Hilversum, The Netherlands; PG Contemporary, Houston, USA; and MKgalerie, Miami, among others.  

His work is part of several art collections, such as the Rabo Bouwfonds collection, the Eneco collection and other private collections.
