Franz Graf Tulln, Austria, b. 1954
Lives and works in Vienna.
Graf studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Between 1997 and 2006 he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. In the eighties, he was involved with the Neo-Geo movement, later his work evolved into a visual language sometimes described as “expressive geometry”, while using the most basic elements of drawing such as the line. Graf works in different media: drawing, sculpture, installation.
Among his solo exhibitions are at Galerie Krinzinger, Vienna; Kunsthalle Krems, Krems;Georg Kargl Fine Arts, Vienna;Galerie im Traklhaus, Salzburg; The Living Art Museum, Reykjavik; De Appel Foundation, Amsterdam, and Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna.
