Biography

Lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. 

 

Rodríguez, a self-taught artist, uses photography as a reference for the pictorial creation of large format portraits that show a feminine and intimate mystery. His technique includes the use of air gun, regular and colored pencils, brushes, knives, crayons and sandpaper.

Rodríguez has exhibited individually at Lyle O'Reitzel Gallery, Santo Domingo; Gallery Torrigiani, Milan; Heumer Hall, Berlin; Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon; Central Art Projects, Mexico City; Ramis Barquet, New York; Fernando Pradilla Gallery, Madrid; Klaus Steinmetz Contemporary Art, Escazú, Costa Rica; Mateo Sariel Gallery, Panama; and at Space d'Art Yvonamor Palix, Paris.

Some of his group exhibits are the XI Rufino Tamayo Painting Biennial, Museo Tamayo, Mexico City; Midome Art Center, Kyoto; Nassau County Museum, Long Island, NY; and at the 7th Osaka Triennale, Mydone Osaka Museum, Osaka, Japan, among others.

Rodriguez has obtained several recognitions such as the First prize of the Biennial Tamayo, Museo Tamayo, Mexico City; Beca Jóvenes Creadores, FONCA; and the Acquisition Prize of the XVI Encuentro Nacional de Arte Joven Mexico City.
