Veronika Veit Munich, Germany, b. 1968
Lives and works in Munich.
Veit studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. She has received scholarships and awards such as the Bavarian State Prize for Fine Art, the Artprice for Fine Art of Munich City, and the DAAD Scholarship, Great Britain.
Veit works in multiple formats such as sculpture, installation, photography and animated film. Her work blurs the boundaries between the real and the fictional world; she transforms everyday objects through small detailed changes and a slight adjustment of form in order to create complex works of art.
Her solo exhibits have been at the Galerie Esther Donatz, Munich; the Kunsthaus Potsdam; Galerie Upstairs Berlin, Berlin, and at the Skulpturenforum Isernhagen Mezzanin. She has also had group showing at institutions such as the Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg;the Haus der Kunst, Munich; the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, at Palais d’Iéna, Paris; the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
Works by Veit can be found in collections such as the Caldic Collection, Rotterdam and the Goetz Collection, Munich.
