Lives and works in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
He studied at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, in 2003 he founded the artist collective Ezza Possibles, he also studied at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg in France.
Shomali describes his work as a way of "digesting" the megalopolis of Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, for this reason, he is inspired by the chaos of daily life and the images of advertising, newspapers, and magazines that make up street culture from Kinshasa. His pieces combine charcoal, pen, gouache, ink, felt, glitter and collage to achieve a unique texture.
His works have been exhibited at the Museum of Marrakech, Morocco, Le Magasin - Center National d'Art Contemporain, France, as well as at the Saatchi Gallery, England.
His work is in important collections such as The Studio Museum in Harlem and The Jean Pigozzi Collection.
