Nacimiento, miradas en el tiempo (2018): Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso

Fundación AMMA in collaboration with the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso, presented for the sixth consecutive time the exhibition Nacimiento, miradas en el tiempo in the Historic Center of Mexico City.

The exhibition Nacimiento, miradas en el tiempo presented part of the Fundación Amparo y Manuel (AMMA) collection, made up of more than a thousand figures of painted clay (figurative-expressionist style), together make up 50 biblical passages from the Old and New Testaments. The scenes are represented with gestures, polychromy, verisimilitude and dynamism. 

The "Nacimiento Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía" was exhibited at the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso from December 11, 2018 to February 3, 2019, complemented with activities such as a concert by the renowned musician Horacio Franco, the presentation of a series of pastorelas and a series of lectures with themes around the history of the Nativity and the Christmas traditions.

The collection was carried out by the artisan Felipe Nieva (Orizaba, Veracruz) during the first half of the 20th century. This exhibition was accompanied by a contemporary sound piece created by the artist Francisco Eme, as well as by a photographic installation of the collection's characters, it´s a complement the aesthetic experience.
