DMD is a Mexican Civil Association that seeks to promote social and legal changes so that citizens can legally opt for a dignified death, free of unnecessary pain and in a peaceful atmosphere. DMD defends dignified death in Mexico as a human right for people within different social areas.
The Association’s objectives are to work for the effective application of rights, for the promotion of autonomy and protection of the patients’ freedom to decide upon their own death; to disseminate their right to participate in the decisions taken during the treatment of their disease; and to create discussion spaces in order to reflect upon these rights.
